5 Ways to Profit from PLR
maria gudelis | August 11, 2010I had the pleasure to interview on my radio show Nicole Dean, an internet marketing expert on "5 Ways to Profit with PLR" and it was full of such fantastic "golden nuggets" that I wanted to share them with you on my blog.

Here are the 5 ways you can profit from PLR:
1. Use PLR for your SEXY Lead Generation magnets! In the interview (you can download the transcript here), Nicole said:"We want to look at it from getting the most out of PLR, in my opinion. So, the lead generation magnets, first of all, as you said, one of my favorite words is sexy too, you need to have a sexy title. If you get PLR from a site like mine you’d want to create and draft a sexy title for your report, obviously.
The lead generation magnets really have to do with likeability and the laws of reciprocity. You’re giving something to someone and you’re hoping that they’ll see the value in it, they’ll be enticed by it, impressed by it, and then they’ll want to give you something back as well as trust you enough to do business with you."
2. Use as an INTEGRAL part in your sequential follow up marketing system such as in your email autoresponder. It's important to stay "FRESH" in your prospects and customers minds…
Nicole had to say on this profit with PLR way:
You can build a relationship with our prospect and customers by tweaking the PLR for our email auto responders.
You should have at least six months to a year in your follow up system for most businesses. 99 percent of us don’t. So, PLR is another way that you can continue to add value, continue to stay in touch with potential clients, and continue to stay in touch with actual clients.
The other 3 ways are extremely informative and to get all the details – please download the entire transcript of the interview (including download link of the audio mp3) here.

3.. Your thoughts on the 5 Ways

I haven't used any PLR articles yet although I have bought some. They're in my hard drive somewhere. Actually, just dropping by to say hello with one bit of advice for your speaking engagement at the Canada Marketing Summit later this month – don't be the first speaker.
This is aiding really awesome for me! Internet marketing to me can really be quite easy – you just need to know what you are doing and no blindly do something and hope that tomorrow you will see money. And once again, thank you for sharing!

Hi Maria
I going through some of the articles I got from Nicole. Doing some dumbing down you might say. In this instance I want to provide enough info so I sound knowlegdeable and maybe enough so the readers may try it themselves. Then realizing it's harder than it sounds, they may want me to do it for them. Usually I would use articles that are more informative but I want customer bait. I don't mine giving out good tidbits and appetizers but hey this is business.
I always modifiy PLR when I use it any way. It's not unusual for me to start out with a 400 word PLR article and end up with a couple of hundred words added to it. If it's too long just break it down into 2 articles. Regardless, it's a lot faster than starting from scratch most of the time. I have used PLR articles right out of the box just to get a blog up. Then later go back and tweak the articles. Sometimes It's more important to get something up and running before it's prefect. You only need ship shape and bristol bright if you are doing something like article directories. Ya know

How I use PLR in my business.
I'm a newbie to IM and wow is there a lot of stuff to learn and do. I was sucked in by one of those catchy web copies. Instead of buying into the program, I decided to promote it. Are you laughing yet? Back then (a few months ago) I quicky discovered no one is buying from through my link. No one is even finding me. I was burried under all the other affiliates promoting the same product. So much for that bright idea. Now I know the money is in the list. So as a newbie, how do I build a list. The same way I got sucked in, and that was with something FREE. I'm building my list by subscribing to other peoples offers. I take the FREE PLRs from them and offer it to my list. I add the new PLRs to my squeeze page and I get more and more leads.
That is how I use PLR in my business. To build my list.
Thanks
Derek

Maria,
I used PLR for my Offline Marketing newsletter. I also used PLR for giveaway events to help build a list. I started purchasing way back in 2002 I believe now I break up the ebooks into articles. Then I spin the articles and use them for article directories.
Now I will re-spin the article and turn them into books to sell on Amazon and on their Kindle. I plan to offer this service to my clients as a branding tool.
I haven't used Nicole yet but I will. Just received 3200 articles from James Jones. Like of work to be done. Thank Be Unto God for outsourcing.

Hey Saundra – that is awesome use of the PLR! Thanks for your comment! Cheers, Maria
If you go to http://www.household-budget-made-easy.com/tips-on-budgeting.html, you will see a PLR book I branded for my own use and give it away with to no opt-in.
Helps to build report and trust, and also keeps those off my list who might end up not liking what I do or talk about afterwords. A prequalifier, if you will.
Hey Maria!
Tried to access the transcript, but nothing shows up… blank page.
My own experience with PLR began when I started *collecting* both PLR & MRR products in 2005… and that's about all I did with them. Then a couple of years ago, I took a product I had purchased, created my first ebook with InDesign from the edited and revised contents, and added graphics to it: http://TheArtOfBeingCreative.com
I offered it for free, and grew a small list, but sent my subscribers mostly marketing messages. Never really explored the full potential of the new product or the email list.
Interested to see if you have new ideas for using PLR.
Thanks!
Kathleen
P.S. One thing I would recommend doing is add graphics to any PLR products you're revamping, and not just a new cover.

thanks for commenting and COOL you have been using PLR since 2005!
Using PLR as a seed for writing books for the Kindle — submitted to Amazon. This is a great way to position yourself as an author and authority. Use "thebestspinner" and make it easy–especially if you have a cover maker. If not hire it done on scriptlance etc…

Another potential option for people seeking ecovers or article spinning is Fiverr.com – http://www.fiverr.com where people will do projects for $5. Post your project there or search for people offering what you need. As with anything, check out their ratings and buyers feedback prior.

Dear Maria,
Thanks.
To answer 1 & 2;
I haven't used PLR yet, but I know that you can use it
* to attract businesses to your services such as through
an 'Opt-in' to a list and send it out via an autoresponder.
* Also, you can use it to show credibility for you and your biz.
* One other way is that you can offer a PLR product to your
clients to help them attract more customers.
Thanks,
Christopher

I'm actually a huge fan of Nicole's PLR's they are of excellent quality and limited in number. I use them in my newsletters, blog post and placed them in ebook form for lead generation purposes and mini courses. If you use adobe pdf you can ad video and audio to the ebook along with pictures to increase the value. Nicole's plr's are the best I've found.

Hi Maria,
GREAT post as usual!
1) Yes, I've used PLR. The list building strategies ebook I give away has been transformed and evolved but was original a PLR product.
2) I could probably do more with it. The link you provided looks like they might be a good source for some quality stuff. (I'm reluctant to buy most because of questioning the quality and the issue of too many people with the same ones out there)
3) I only have thoughts on the first 2 because the link doesn't seem to be working for the entire transcript.
1) I definitely think I need to jazz it up a bit and make it more "sexy" for sure!
2) Agreed, I do not have enough follow up messages built into my autoresponder
Geez, I was only here a few minutes and look at all the work I need to do!
Thanks for the free book. If you can forward a working link for the transcript I'd love to see the rest.

I use Nicole's PLR products and can attest to their quality and her professional expertise. Her PLR save me a ton of time, plus I love thinking up creative ways to use and re-use the material.

Yes Nicole’s stuff is fantastic and so glad I had the chance to interview her on it. What i like is how she limits the number she sells so there is ‘quality control’ on it..the only drag is if I miss my change to snag the PLR package from her by NOT clicking on her link soon enough!
Which is at this link here!

Miss a meal if you have to, but don't miss a book.
Some people claim that it is okay to read trashy novels because sometimes you can find something valuable in them. You can also find a crust of bread in a garbage can, if you search long enough, but there is a better way.
Don't just read the easy stuff. You may be entertained by it, but you will never grow from it.
