If you are a marketing consultant, strongly consider investing in offering mobile app development for your clients!

Right from the eMarketer post:

"Want to find a recipe for a 30-minute meal? Chances are there is an app for that. Need to convey an apology through a virtual kiss? Yes, there is an app for that. And if your trousers sport the telltale signs of last night’s dinner, there’s an app for that, too. There are now numerous mobile apps that fill utilitarian needs, serving up informative tips and educational bits, plenty that offer pure entertainment and others that hover in between."

The marketing studies show overwhelming evidence for you to explore mobile marketing options for 2010!

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK BELOW!

Enjoy, Maria Gudelis

Really helpful post. I enjoyed reading it and will come by in the future to look at any fresh posts you have published. How often do you try to update your website?

I agree 100% but the thought that I have is this: The business owners I work with are not proficient enough to set up and run a blog and social media for themselves…and it's tough to convince them that they need those services. Won't it be really a big hurdle to overcome to convince them of mobile advertising??
Although it is 110% the next big thing, I agree…

Hey Mike -it depends on the business to some extent and their budget….the biggest thing they can do is get on google page one and google maps because most mobile devices, and for myself when I use the iPHone and am looking for a restaurant…google is the default browser..and the maps show up….eg. “vegetarian restaurant sacramento’ for example if I search that…

the other aspect -is the texting in of contest entries – that is big…’creating an event’ around something…

I'm amazed ince none of my current clients have any interest in marketing via mobile phones or text messages. Whether they are restaurants or auto repair places, they uniformly comment that they'd hate to be bothering people by sending them messages on their phones. Perhaps its an educational opportunity but I'm not sure small businesses are ready here.

As you know from the contest you participated in with me in March, Mobile apps. definitely have extreme potential!  It's great to have another service to offer my consulting clients. Looking forward to your case studies and as always, thanks for providing timely and valuable information!

I was just approached by a developer who is now creating mobile apps versions of ebooks for clients and has offered to convert my ebooks for the iPhone, the Droid and Blackberry. I am definitely going mobile.

There was a News Expose last  nite on Ch 4 that showed how "Target" retail stores are starting to use "online coupons" sent to your mobile phone to help drive sales.  Mobile definetly on the way up!
