You can also do this with black "chalkboard" paint. (More for people who have kids vs. a biz application but I just thought I'd toss it out there for those that made kid comments.)

That's a really good idea. I have four kids and they'd love to have something to draw on like that. We'd considered trying to paint a chalkboard paint on one of their walls, but I just can't stand chalk. Not sure dry erase markers would be much better, but it's a thought.
